Our Story
One Voice Africa was established and founded by NAPAC USA in September 2016 during the 45th Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference in Washington, DC at National Harbor, Maryland — with the goal of involving, educating, and empowering the African voice in discussions on good policies that benefit their communities.
What began as a coalition of diaspora organizations has grown into the African diaspora's most recognized civic platform in Washington, D.C. One Voice Africa brings together Nigerian Americans, Ghanaian Americans, Congolese Americans, and the broader Pan-African community under a unified political identity.
Our network spans elected officials from city councils to the U.S. Congress, business leaders, educators, and community organizers — all united in the belief that the African diaspora must have a powerful, organized voice in American policymaking.

Policy Platform
The policy issues our coalition fights for in Washington and beyond.
Advocating for fair, transparent immigration policies that protect African diaspora families and professionals seeking opportunity in the United States. We work to ensure equitable visa access, reduce systemic processing disparities affecting African nations, and modernize pathways for students, skilled professionals, and entrepreneurs.
Advancing policies that unlock the economic potential of African diaspora communities as a driver of American growth. African immigrants are among the most highly educated and entrepreneurial populations in the U.S.—we champion access to capital, small business support, and workforce integration that benefits both diaspora communities and the broader economy.
Building economic bridges between America and the African continent through AGOA, bilateral trade agreements, and diaspora-led investment frameworks. We promote policies that position the African diaspora as a strategic connector—expanding trade, strengthening supply chains, and increasing U.S. competitiveness in Africa's rapidly growing markets.
Increasing African diaspora voter registration, civic education, and participation in elections at the local, state, and federal levels. We are focused not just on participation, but on building sustained political influence—ensuring the diaspora is organized, represented, and impactful in shaping public policy.
Addressing health disparities in African and African American communities through policy advocacy and community-driven health initiatives. We support culturally competent care, workforce diversity in healthcare, and targeted interventions that improve outcomes across underserved populations.
Promoting fairness within the U.S. immigration system by addressing structural inequities that disproportionately impact African applicants. This includes long visa wait times, limited access to pathways, and inconsistent treatment across regions. Our focus is on equal access, transparency, and accountability—ensuring the system works fairly for all.
Aligning immigration and domestic policy to meet America's workforce needs—particularly in healthcare, STEM, and critical industries. We advocate for policies that responsibly integrate highly skilled African professionals into the U.S. economy while strengthening talent exchange between the U.S. and Africa.
Positioning the African diaspora as a strategic asset in advancing U.S. global leadership. We support policies that deepen diaspora engagement in diplomacy, economic development, and cultural exchange—strengthening ties between the United States and Africa while elevating Black global influence.
